Julius De'Von Evans says, “being born in the hood doesn’t mean you have to be of it.” Julius De’Von Evans was born May 2, 1992 in Chicago, IL; the second of seven children born to a teenage mother. Julius spent some of his childhood living amongst high-level poverty, gang violence, and drugs in the Cabrini Green Housing Projects on Chicago’s Near North side before his mother moved the family to Detroit, MI. Despite the negative activity outside, Julius’ mother worked hard to create a different atmosphere inside.

Julius was never attracted to the “going-ons” in the streets – but hip hop made him feel connected. Influenced by Ice Cube, Jay Z, Lil Wayne and more Julius used his music to reflect his life experiences, thoughts, revelations and insights.

After releasing mixtapes staring in 2010 and 2 albums some years later Julius wanted to prove that he had something to say. “Music is a universal language and I believe it can change the world faster and more efficient than any politician or religious guru”.
